Cropped Tops & High-Waisted Shorts

Last summer these shorts sparked my #funshortsfriday posts . This summer I've been all about bralettes and these high-waisted shorts are the perfect bottom for a cropped top.  bralettes- Three Bird Nest , shorts-Uniqlo(similar here ), sunnies- DIFF Eyewear , sandals- Marc Fisher , necklace-Gifted These are actually two layered bralettes, a basic black one under a lacey version. You may recall the this boho piece from this post back in September when I paired it with a tennis cardi, leather trousers, and kicks.  Here, I'm just trying to beat the heat, but still able to incorporate pattern and texture.

Linen Daze

Back from vacation, back to work, and back to outfitting in this heat! 😨 I find in July and August I'm just reaching for easy pieces like this linen shift! shift-- OdaLux on Etsy (similar here ) sunglasses- DIFF Eyewear , necklace- Mejuri , belt- Amazon , bag- Shiraleah , shoes- Born When you have a great dress, all you need are a few accessories to make an outfit. I've played around with layers last fall with this shift( here and here ). For this dog-day of summer I went with minimal pieces in the same color family, keeping things mostly neutral to let the dress shine. I feel very grown-up, nice lady in this ensemble. A capable, knows-her-stuff, kind of mom. Speaking of knowing your stuff,  the thing about shopping with Etsy, where I purchased this dress late last summer, is that you have go in with intention and purpose. It's such a massive platform with so many makers, that you really have to be on the hunt for something in particular. Casual browsing will you lead yo

Weather, amiright? One day it's sweltering, then it's raining buckets, the next gloomy, chilly, and also humid... This tank top speaks perfectly to the state of my mind... tank top- Tee Public , shorts- Nordstrom Rack , necklace- Ana Luisa , ring- Skelton Jewelry , shoes-- Native Shoes In these dog days of summer, I'm just trying to survive. I've had this tank since last summer, when the sentiments of it were beyond appropriate. I bought this in support of one of my favorite podcasts " You're Wrong About ".  This mantra is still seeing me through the ongoing challenges of working from home, preparing to go BACK into my office come September, parenting, spousing, modern womaning, all of it! Yes, this is just pull-on shorts and a tank, but the tie dye and humor (and jewelry) make this more of a "look" if not an outfit.

Been Awhile

Yep, things got pretty busy in life, and when that happens outfits suffer, or I should say outfit posts suffer, because I was definitely rocking some looks on a recent trip to Sonoma. Of course wine drinking took priority over outfit shooting so they will live only in memory.  Back to the grind with this romantic, yet sporty look.  sweater- Amazon Essentials , blouse-J.Crew Factory,(similar here ),  leggings /flats-Gap(more shoes here ), necklace- Benevolence LA I love mixing activewear leggings with business casual pieces like this cardigan, blouse and flats. It speaks to the hybrid nature of working-from-home and working-out at home.  I also love the color sory in this OOTD. Blues, pinks, teals, it all feels so fresh and feminine. Rendered in neutrals or darker shades would totally change the feel of this look, no?  For these leggings, I'm also wearing the matching sports bra .  As the summer rolls on and things start to normalize, I hope to post at least weekly. I've been in
