Home for the Weekend

I'm headed to my hometown this weekend to visit family.  I'm thinking of keeping it casual but colorful.  I grew up in Williamsport, PA which is the home of little league baseball, so the ball cap and sneakers is a nod to that.   When I'm home I always visit with both of my grandmothers and I have to say (and I won't say which one) my Grammy makes delicious cookies. I'm not much of a sweets person but I find myself having like five when I'm at her house.   And of course no trip home would be complete without my dad hounding me about which mass I'm attending.  I think for church I may bust out my cat dress from Asos:

Of course the back of this dress may get some church ladies talking...


But hey, what's the point of visiting your hometown if you can't cause a stir.

40 Year Old Cottagecore

Two Things

First: Isabel Marant's collocation for H&M debuts today in select stores AND online at noon, so you may want to get up on that.  Here are a few looks I'm lusting after. Hello mixed patterns!   Love the oversized coat and the detail on these jeans.   Patterned blazer, cropped colorful trousers, yes please!   Of course, I cannot partake in this collection with my Year Of No Shopping, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't. So get ready to go by noon because I'm sure this noise will sell out fast.   Number Two: I'm thinking about a new haircut.  Something along the lines of Tilda Swinton .     What do we think? I'm not going to go blond, but I like the shorter/buzzed sides and back with length on the top. Mr. Keller is hesitant, he thinks it's too masculine, but I'm kind of in the mood to go a bit edgy and I've had the same cut now for two-ish years...  FYI: Tilda Swinton is my spirit animal!   ...

Gift Guide Part 3--Literature

So far I've covered beauty products and socks in this year's round of gift guides, which are prefect gift categories for the coming winter. To add to that list--reading! Here are a few books from my Books Worth Reading Pinterest board, first up--poetry! James Allen Hall's "I Liked You Better Before I Knew You So Well" from the CSU Poetry Center I LOVED Hall's 1st book   Now You're the Enemy , which won awards from the Texas Institute of Letters, the Lambda Literary Foundation, and the Fellowship of Southern Writers.
