Springtime Buys

In this post I made mention of my go-to outfitting strategy for spring/summer '16-- boxier silhouettes with a lots of leg and athleisure-esque footwear.  So, in light of this discovery I've made some strategic purchases towards that outftting end.

This striped shirt is going to be great for work and I ordered up a size to ensure I can button it all the way without gap-age. You busty gals know I'm talkin' bout, amiright?

 Similar to the shirt above, but more versatile being black n' white. And even though it can be a bit expected, I see this working with simple black leggings and ballet flats for a great quick n' easy go-to look!

I am so EXCITED for this top!!!! I just want to shout "Pineapples!!!" This is going to  be such a fun piece this upcoming season. I'll pair it with my green drawstrings (seen here) and maybe try to style it for an upcoming wedding in July. I'm all about the non-dress dressy look this summer.

are getting returned. They fit, and are "okay" but after much consideration I have decided they are going back. Why? Well, because every time I looked at them this kept going through my head:



So yeah, once you have this running through your brain it's hard to stop seeing/hearing it.

40 Year Old Cottagecore

Rent the Runway to the Rescue

So after the semi-disastrous dress vote from last week I took the stiletto by the heel, aka reserved this Slate & Willow dress from Rent the Runway  for the wedding in July.  Slate & Willow I had my eye on this as a possible outfit for the Tilda Swinton event I attended last month (fancy I know!) But, ended up going pretty casual since it was just a film screening. An AMAZING screening, but not a dressy affair nonetheless.  Anyway, this striped sheath has so many good reviews from a variety of fellow renters in all shapes and sizes, I didn't see one unflattering user pic, so I'm fairly confident this frock will serve my needs come July. Gift Guide Part 3--Literature

So far I've covered beauty products and socks in this year's round of gift guides, which are prefect gift categories for the coming winter. To add to that list--reading! Here are a few books from my Books Worth Reading Pinterest board, first up--poetry! James Allen Hall's "I Liked You Better Before I Knew You So Well" from the CSU Poetry Center I LOVED Hall's 1st book   Now You're the Enemy , which won awards from the Texas Institute of Letters, the Lambda Literary Foundation, and the Fellowship of Southern Writers.
