Bowties and Orange Shorts




I love the lining of this blazer and how it makes the trim pop, it couldn't have been more perfect in coordinating with my rolled up shirt cuffs.

As summer transitions to autumn I find myself trying to squeeze out the last bit of my summer staples like shorts and sneakers.  Adding a blazer and bowtie makes for a fun combo for this transition outfit. So many magazines have those "How to Wear Your Summer Dresses in Fall" type of articles, but I think there's more to seasonal changeover dressing then just putting a cardigan and boots with a summer dress.  There's a lot one can do with layers, mixing up the shoe choice, and color combinations. What are some ways you outfit during the seasonal switch?

    They lay pretty flat since this is more of a knit less structured blazer. I REALLY like it, wore it all over the place when we were in Denver.

Two Things

First: Isabel Marant's collocation for H&M debuts today in select stores AND online at noon, so you may want to get up on that.  Here are a few looks I'm lusting after. Hello mixed patterns!   Love the oversized coat and the detail on these jeans.   Patterned blazer, cropped colorful trousers, yes please!   Of course, I cannot partake in this collection with my Year Of No Shopping, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't. So get ready to go by noon because I'm sure this noise will sell out fast.   Number Two: I'm thinking about a new haircut.  Something along the lines of Tilda Swinton .     What do we think? I'm not going to go blond, but I like the shorter/buzzed sides and back with length on the top. Mr. Keller is hesitant, he thinks it's too masculine, but I'm kind of in the mood to go a bit edgy and I've had the same cut now for two-ish years...  FYI: Tilda Swinton is my spirit animal!   ...

Gift Guide Part 3--Literature

So far I've covered beauty products and socks in this year's round of gift guides, which are prefect gift categories for the coming winter. To add to that list--reading! Here are a few books from my Books Worth Reading Pinterest board, first up--poetry! James Allen Hall's "I Liked You Better Before I Knew You So Well" from the CSU Poetry Center I LOVED Hall's 1st book   Now You're the Enemy , which won awards from the Texas Institute of Letters, the Lambda Literary Foundation, and the Fellowship of Southern Writers.
