Dress on a Bridge








This is not just a gratuitous shot.  I've struggled with what type of cami to layer under this dress and stumbled up on this sheer camisole that worked perfectly.  When thinking about coverage, sheer or translucent may not seem like an obvious choice, but it can work.

This dress is just beautifully cut and I love the color.  The neckline is a bit revealing, but with this light grey sheer cami its no longer an issue.  When layering camis under revealing tops one does want to be careful not to disrupt or distract from the top or dress, you want to go for subtle coverage.  The scarf was a gift from my Grammy.  The colors in the scarf lead me to the shoe and purse choice in this outfit.  I added this long cardigan to give it some casual ease instead of going full out "Ladies Who Lunch."   ï»¿

    How funny, I did all gray today but did not do the contrast as well as you did. A black 3/4 sleeve sweater, a large black/red necklace or black scarf would have made blah into ah-ha. Live and learn.

Two Things

First: Isabel Marant's collocation for H&M debuts today in select stores AND online at noon, so you may want to get up on that.  Here are a few looks I'm lusting after. Hello mixed patterns!   Love the oversized coat and the detail on these jeans.   Patterned blazer, cropped colorful trousers, yes please!   Of course, I cannot partake in this collection with my Year Of No Shopping, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't. So get ready to go by noon because I'm sure this noise will sell out fast.   Number Two: I'm thinking about a new haircut.  Something along the lines of Tilda Swinton .     What do we think? I'm not going to go blond, but I like the shorter/buzzed sides and back with length on the top. Mr. Keller is hesitant, he thinks it's too masculine, but I'm kind of in the mood to go a bit edgy and I've had the same cut now for two-ish years...  FYI: Tilda Swinton is my spirit animal!   ...

Gift Guide Part 3--Literature

So far I've covered beauty products and socks in this year's round of gift guides, which are prefect gift categories for the coming winter. To add to that list--reading! Here are a few books from my Books Worth Reading Pinterest board, first up--poetry! James Allen Hall's "I Liked You Better Before I Knew You So Well" from the CSU Poetry Center I LOVED Hall's 1st book   Now You're the Enemy , which won awards from the Texas Institute of Letters, the Lambda Literary Foundation, and the Fellowship of Southern Writers.
