Tone-on-tone dressing is so on trend right now, and I think will definitely be a popular look this coming spring. Lucky has some tips on pulling it off here. For my outfit I broke up the blue cropped pants and sweater with a leopard print button-down. The coat wasn't in my original concept for this look, but D*MN it is cold outside and I really couldn't even stand to not wear it for these photos. So, practically has won out over fashion for this round, at least. But, come on it IS a great coat, don't you think?
Now for some tips of my own. This sweater has a small hole in the sleeve.
I hate when a great sweater gets a little hole like this. It's such a waste to throw it out (since you really shouldn't donate or try to consign items with any type of damage no matter how small). When something like this happens first I use clear nail polish and dab it all around the area to stop the hole from growing bigger. Then depending on the size/location of the hole I decide whether or not I can still wear the sweater without it being noticeable. For the above this was an easy choice, since it's in the sleeve it can be easily hidden with a shirt cuff:
So this sweater was salvageable, thank goodness, because I really love the color.
