Put a Poncho on It

I don't know if you can see my cat-ears headband here.

And here...

There you go--side view!

Another fun, dramatic piece from Le Tote Maternity. Check out the cape from this post last week. Again, would I put a cable-knit poncho on my "must have" shopping list? No, probably not, but with Le Tote I'm able to have fun with statement/novelty pieces AND see if it's something I actually DO want to add to my wardrobe. This poncho came on Thursday, I wore it out to dinner that night and for the rest of the weekend... so maybe a poncho IS a "must have" for this outfitter.

As for the rest of this look--these pants are technically "lounge bottoms" but, hey at 8 months prego they are going out/getting sh*t done bottoms because A. they fit (!!!) B. they're comfortable, and C. have a quirky pattern that gives this black-and-grey ensemble a bit of playful interest.  Plus, stripes and birds are always a good print-mix.  Also, I dressed things up with this necklace and booties. There's nothing wrong with wearing casual/lounge wear out and about (pregnant or not) but you DO want to strategically accessorize so it doesn't look like you rolled out of bed and rolled straight out the door.
