Drapey Dress

 From drapey pants from these posts here and here to a drapey dress today. I'm going to type drape one more time, "drape." 

 This is a straight-up old school performance fleece vest from Old Navy. And this knit dress from ModCloth is so old I can't find anything remotely similar on the site currently. To be honest I was kind of sleepwalking when I put on this outfit. I basically just grabbed a hanger from my closet and wore everything that lived on that one hanger. Obvie, the heels and jewelry have their own separate places and definitely elevate this layered look from sort of slumpy to outfit territory. My co-worker said I looked like a fountain pen with this high-low hem of the slip-dress. I took that as a complete, it does look fierce blowing in the breeze, does it not?

Two Things

First: Isabel Marant's collocation for H&M debuts today in select stores AND online at noon, so you may want to get up on that.  Here are a few looks I'm lusting after. Hello mixed patterns!   Love the oversized coat and the detail on these jeans.   Patterned blazer, cropped colorful trousers, yes please!   Of course, I cannot partake in this collection with my Year Of No Shopping, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't. So get ready to go by noon because I'm sure this noise will sell out fast.   Number Two: I'm thinking about a new haircut.  Something along the lines of Tilda Swinton .     What do we think? I'm not going to go blond, but I like the shorter/buzzed sides and back with length on the top. Mr. Keller is hesitant, he thinks it's too masculine, but I'm kind of in the mood to go a bit edgy and I've had the same cut now for two-ish years...  FYI: Tilda Swinton is my spirit animal!   ...

Gift Guide Part 3--Literature

So far I've covered beauty products and socks in this year's round of gift guides, which are prefect gift categories for the coming winter. To add to that list--reading! Here are a few books from my Books Worth Reading Pinterest board, first up--poetry! James Allen Hall's "I Liked You Better Before I Knew You So Well" from the CSU Poetry Center I LOVED Hall's 1st book   Now You're the Enemy , which won awards from the Texas Institute of Letters, the Lambda Literary Foundation, and the Fellowship of Southern Writers.
