I'm teaching a Poetry Workshop at the Green Tree Library!!
"During this 8-week Poetry Workshop for Beginners, adult poets will have the opportunity to present their work to peers and the facilitator. The class will focus on each poem's strength and/or weakness in literary craft with an emphasis on revision. Each meeting will also include a writing exercise and the reading of a contemporary poet as a tool to learn technique."
So, if you are interested in getting your writing workshoped or know some one who is, sign up here! For more info visit the library's events page here. This is a totally FREE class and starts on Thursday, September 26th.
AND
I'll be reading on Sunday, September 15th during the annual Mexican War Streets House Tour as part of City of Asylum's "I Don't Know What I'd Do if I Couldn't Speak My Mind" event, more info here.
This is another FREE event (the reading part, the tour does cost $) and will feature poets and writers from 11am-5pm under the canopy on the corner of Monterey Street and Sampsonia Way in the North Side. I go on at 12:20 so two very important decisions need to be made. What to read? And of course how to outfit?
