Pop of Color


Is was extremely chilly this past weekend and all I wanted to do was wear layers and layers of black.  However, one does want a pop of color, hence the skull cap.



When its not completely freezing out I like to tie the coat up in the back and change up the silhouette.


These boots are "flats" but they do have a hint of a wedge heel, pushing them a bit beyond a standard snow or rain boot.


This watch is so light weight and never gets caught up in the coat sleeve.

One way I've been fighting the cold is with turtlenecks.  I've been layering them under everything, which makes me feel very beatnik/french, without adding a lot of bulk.    Also,as a girl with short hair, hats are a necessity for me.  And even with a good hat a girl needs a hood as well, so on the really chilly days I make sure to "double bag."  Stay warm!

40 Year Old Cottagecore

Two Things

First: Isabel Marant's collocation for H&M debuts today in select stores AND online at noon, so you may want to get up on that.  Here are a few looks I'm lusting after. Hello mixed patterns!   Love the oversized coat and the detail on these jeans.   Patterned blazer, cropped colorful trousers, yes please!   Of course, I cannot partake in this collection with my Year Of No Shopping, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't. So get ready to go by noon because I'm sure this noise will sell out fast.   Number Two: I'm thinking about a new haircut.  Something along the lines of Tilda Swinton .     What do we think? I'm not going to go blond, but I like the shorter/buzzed sides and back with length on the top. Mr. Keller is hesitant, he thinks it's too masculine, but I'm kind of in the mood to go a bit edgy and I've had the same cut now for two-ish years...  FYI: Tilda Swinton is my spirit animal!   ...

Gift Guide Part 3--Literature

So far I've covered beauty products and socks in this year's round of gift guides, which are prefect gift categories for the coming winter. To add to that list--reading! Here are a few books from my Books Worth Reading Pinterest board, first up--poetry! James Allen Hall's "I Liked You Better Before I Knew You So Well" from the CSU Poetry Center I LOVED Hall's 1st book   Now You're the Enemy , which won awards from the Texas Institute of Letters, the Lambda Literary Foundation, and the Fellowship of Southern Writers.
