I had a movie date on New Year's Eve day and had no clue what to wear. Then I saw a model off duty slideshow here. I found inspiration from Miranda Kerr's look:

I love the mix of leather pants and a wool sweater.
So I put together my version of "Model Off Duty"
Elbow Patches!!!
trench-Asos, sweater-Zara(similar here), tunic-H&M, pants-BCBG(similar here),
boots-DSW(some other boots on sale here), bag-Coach(some other bag options here), necklace/bracelets-Anthropologie(similar here and here), ring-JewelMint

I took the idea of leather pants and a sweater and overcoat then made it monochromatic, pushing the leather of the pants with the bag and boots. It was a happy accident how the slouch of the pants played off the slouch of the boots, which provides a great contrast to the flow and drape of the tunic. I went with more summery accessories in the necklace and bracelets to off set all the beige/brown happening here. The tendency is to go bit glam with jewelry for such a rich look, but for going to the movies I figured a casual approach to jewelry was called for.
The one element of the Miranda Kerr look I totally ignored was the kid on the hip... I'm thinking that's not the most versatile accessory for me.
