Winter Street Style Inspiration

coat/skirt-H&M(similar here and here), scarf-J.Crew Factory(similar here), shirt-ModCloth(similarish here), boots-Asos

This outfit was directly inspired by a recent, winter street style slide show over at Who What Wear. From the image below I broke down the basic elements of a long overcoat and patterned midi-skirt. The original look definitely has a 90's flair that I love, but rarely deploy in my own outfitting. Which is why it can be a fun fashion challenge to create a look inspired by another blogger, street style pic, the runway, or even an editorial in a fashion mag. It pushes me to try to new things, and find new ways to wear pieces I already have in my wardrobe. And while, I think I pretty much nailed this look, outfit inspo is not about a straight-up copy of someone else's ensemble, but instead taking a new way to approach your own outfit. A different jumping off point, stylishly speaking!
