Versace on the Top, Tartan on the Bottom

Okay it's cold... I'm taking this coat off really quick to show you blouse details. You're welcome. The belt provides a solid band of black to break up the patterns and it cinches in the waist, which is always a good idea. Okay... I need my coat back. coat/bag-Zara(similar here and here ), blouse- ModCloth , skirt-Urban Outfitters(sort of similar here ), belt-Gap outlet(similar here ), gloves- Brain Atwood for Target/Neiman Marcus , boots-DSW(similar here ), necklace-Banana Republic(similar here ), the cold breeze-God I've been thinking about pairing this blouse and skirt for a while now and I love how the colors play off each other, while the patterns are working such different vibes. The top is a total holler back to vintage Versace, don't you think? image via Kit Walker The skirt is a tartan/plaid dream, you may recall my fondness for plaid here . Together...

Versayce

Another Rent the Runway triumph in this 80's inspired dress that's giving off equal parts edgy and tacky with a bit of Versace flavor. I say Versace, but I really mean Versayce in the style of Nomi Malone, which a recent gift of sunglasses  sent me into a Showgirls tailspin....  dress-- Ronny Kobo Collective via Rent the Runway , bag-Anne Klein (similar here )  shoes-Marc Fischer(similar here ), bracelet-- Bayou With Love , rings-- Mejur i earrings-- Wisteria Sky Boutique via Etsy sunnies-- Diff Eyewear If I really wanted to be an 80's power-bitch I would have busted out some black stilettos and teased hair, but instead I opted for my go-to summer shoe and the same old do'. This dress is not my usual style, but it was fun to switch things up and take a bit of a sartorial walk on the wild side. And now for some credits, the art work in the background is by a local mural artist Raymer  and this dress was worn for a dinner out at Morcilla  highly recommend...

Is This An Outfit?

I don't know friends, is this even an outfit or just clothes? I think the holiday stress, cold weather, and just general malaise has worn down this outfitter into a woman who is just wearing clothes... can it be real? You make the call.      coat-Nordstrom(similar here ), vest-LL Bean(similar here ) dress- Universal Standard , sunnies-Versace(more options here ), tired necklace-J.Crew Factory(similar here ), necklace/bracelets-- Slide Jewels, bag- Herschel , boots- DSW Individually all of these pieces feel stylish. The sweater dress is a neutral basic, but still relatively chic. The coat is a classic wardrobe staple (featured here and here ). The vest is a quality item that provides interesting layers and textures. The jewelry provides polish, while the boots are fun, trending, and provide a contrasting aesthetic to the overall look. The bag I will admit doesn't feel "right" I thought maybe it works color-wise with the coat (perhaps in a more casual look). I just do...

Purple Pants Dark Romance

The volume for this year's Halloween was turned up all the way! And now it seems we're ramping right up for Xmas. But there's still some fall to be had and while this look might not immediately bring you autumnal vibes, it does have a bit of a dark romance that fits with the darker days of daylight savings.  blazer-Ines de la Fressange X Uniqlo(similar here ), shirt-Anthropologie(similar here and here ), trousers-Banana Republic(similar here and here ), sunnies-Versace(similar here ), necklace/bracelet- Slide Jewelry   I first featured these pants in this post  styled similarly with a patterned blouse and tailored outerwear. Here, I feel this is a more romantic take, which how can it not be with this velvet blazer. Sadly, Uniqlo is no longer making collections with Ines de la Fressange. But wonderfully Banana Republic Factory is having a HUGE sale check out suiting here .  Also, I'm wearing another necklace and bracelet set from Slide Jewelry. If you would li...
