Outfits Not Just Clothes

Wore this on a mini-road trip on Friday.  I picked these gold loafers for reasons of comfort and then decided to have them dictate the other accessories. I went with a "gold" chain and ring with touches of gold in the bracelet. This sleeveless blouse will most likely get a lot of wear this summer. I love the interest it creates with the collar/placket and it's flattering without being tight across the bust.    And holy crap it is SUMMER.  Spring was a fleeting thought this year.     Those gold bits are lion heads!!!   I love the defined shoulders of this top, it add portion and interest.          Leopard booties coming at you!     top-Zara(sort of similar here ), dress-Asos(similar here ), belt-Gap Outlet(more belts here ), necklace-Anthropologie(similar here ), bracelet- Jewel Mint , ring- Le Tote , booties-Loehman's(sort of similar here ) From Androgyny Drama on Thursday to Feline Ferocity on Friday.  This outfit came together quite spontaneously.  I wasn't sure what I wanted to wear to work last Friday. I saw this dress in my closet and it had been a while since I last wore it.  You may recall from this post , that it has cutouts so I definitely needed to cover that up for the office. Tried a regular V-neck sweater, but wasn't feeling it, then I stumbled upon this shirt and from there things feel into place.  I love all the feline touches here....

First, in the locker room at my gym where I got a few double takes at the makeup mirror and some sideways glances. Then several co-workers had comments ranging from "whoa" to "you look like a cut little bellhop." I took them all as a compliment.  Personally, I just think this is a sickening look, you may recall it from this post here .   Playing around with androgyny has always intrigued me and it's something I do in my outfitti...

The sky was so pretty yesterday! I think the reason I'm hitting the color blue so hard this spring is because I really missed clear blue skies over the winter.  I think it was grey the whole month of February. I've done this shirt/sweater combo before here.  This go round I swapped the jeans for pinstripe trousers and the sneakers for heels. Yellow is not a color that naturally suits me, but this flash of it with the heels works and gives the overall outfit a pop.  

    A bit of cleave to start the week off for you.   Can you tell I'm trying a bit of lip color?           Gosh my arms are pale...     jacket- Old Navy , tunic/necklace-Mikkat Market(similar here  more necklaces here ), leggings-Zara(similar here ), flats- Jcrew , bag-gifted. This past weekend we went to Philly and attended Hawthrones Cafe's block party. It was quite a hipster haven and I outfitted accordingly. I mean I could have gone the bowtie and suspenders route, but that seemed a bit obvie to me.  I need to play around more with this tunic from Mikkat Market, maybe pair it with shorts... or layer it with other dresses. We shall see.  Oh, AND I'm wearing some lip color in these photos.  I received a sample of Mirenesse Glossy Kiss from one of my Birchboxes . What do we think?
