Same Turtleneck Different Day

Last week I featured a layered look for this transitional season between winter and spring in this post . Here I'm in the same location and wearing the same turtleneck, this time with a sweater and trouser combo. There's a strong tonal vibe in this look. Loving the play with burgundy and pink against the grey pant.  coat/sweater-Nordstrom/Nordstrom Rack(similar here and here ), turtleneck-Cuddl Duds(similar here ), pants- Everlane , loafers- Mix No. 6 vis DSW, necklace-J.Crew Factory(similar here ), bag-Coach(similar here ) Today, here in Pittsburgh it's going to feel like summer, so don't know how much more use this turtleneck will get, but layers are key for early spring. We are set for chillier weather next week, so it's not time for shorts and tanks just yet. In case you missed it, here's this same sweater from a summer post (also shot on this hilltop) and this coat from this past fall and the previous . Just to show how the right pieces can (and should) ...

Cowboy Boot Floral Spring

Florals for spring....groundbreaking. But paired with cowboys boots, and a thrifted cardigan, they are a stylish sight for sore eyes. What a winter is has (and is still) been. But hope, and daylight savings time are on the horizon. Here's a take on transitional dressing as we kick off March!   cardigan-Thrifted from Phoenix Boutique , shirt- Boden (similar here ), skirt & belt -- Amazon , boots-- Coconuts from DSW , bracelets- Nordstrom , mask-- Maskc You may recall these boots from this post . I much prefer them with this silhouette. I think they'd also be great with some dresses this spring.  As for transitional season outfitting, layers are key. I'm rocking a thermal turtleneck, tights, and knee-high socks underneath this top, sweater, skirt combination. Hopefully more regular posting will be happening this month with switching the clocks and brighter days ahead. Thanks for reading!

Pink & Red

There's something about the combination of pink and red (in the right tones) that can seed you from the Christmas festivities right into Valentine's Day season.  Case in point, these side-striped pants from Universal Standard. Here I'm wearing them with a basic black cardi, white sneakers, and a graphic tee with the complimentary shades of pink and red. It helps the t-shirt is also from Universal. The pink bag and aubergine coat fit seamlessly into this color story. coat & necklace -- Nordstrom , t-shirt & trousers -- Universal Standard , cardi -- Banana Republic Factory , sneakers -- H&M , bag -- Coach I first featured this t-shirt in this " Back to Work " post. It's a collaboration between Universal Standard and illustrator Marylou Faure.  I'll be deploying this trouser-and-tee combo (with various cardigan options) here for the rest of February, embracing the V-Day tone of it all. Follow me on Instagram for some additional sweater options ...

Happy 2025!

In the words of the comedian Tom Segura "Get Fucking Ready!" It's a new year, and I have no clue what joys, horrors, ups, downs, endeavors, and disasters that await. Yes, it has been awhile since I posted due to life events (recent passing of a loved one) and the frenzy of the holiday break (we had visit from both Santa and the Tooth Fairy).  So here's a look from back in November before the end of 2024 slapped me in the face.  coat-Universal Standard(more options here ), sweater-Anthropologie(similar options here , here , and here ), shorts- Boden , socks- Bombas , boots-Nordstrom(more options here ), earrings- Amazon , mask- Maskc I love this coat! The mix of material gives any look some subtle drama plus it's overall cozy. Of course a red boot always hits, but it pairs unexpectedly well with this striped sweater and plaid shorts.  Shorts outside of summer can be tricky. It's a delicate balance of tights, socks, and temperature. I featured shorts most recent...
